Pet travel - Selecting "airline approved" travel crates

Bringing back my dtrs cat from France.?

The cat was taken to France 3 yrs ago. Now we are bringing her back. She has a certificate of health from the Vet. He also gave her a Rabies booster and other shots. Will we be ok going through customs with her? We have the airline approved small animal sherpa that is my carry on.
The main question is about going through CUSTOMS and what they require.

As for cat carrier, I do not ever recommend using a soft sided mesh carrier. They provide no protection at all in case the carrier gets bumped, pushed, or suitcase or something falls on it.

Contact the airline you will be flying on to see if they allow the animal in the cabin and how to make a reservation for it and what the extra fee will be and find out any other requirements.

Talk to vet about when is last time to feed cat before flying and whether something that is a calmative can be given. There is a product (don't know if they sell in France) called Feliway that you can spray 2 - 3 spritz on the bedding of the carrier that will calm the cat. I use it for taking skittish cat to the vet. It only lasts a couple hours so you have to respray. You can't smell it but the cat inhales it and is calmer.
